Joy Marie Romo, age 87 of Grandview, passed away on September 10, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born on October 1, 1929 in Atlus, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Witten and Nola Kate (Russell) Witten. Joy married Rufus "Victor" Romo in 1952 and they celebrated over 25 years of marriage together before his passing. Joy later married I.N. "Neal" Walker in 1988.

Joy Marie Romo, age 87 of Grandview, passed away on September 10, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born on October 1, 1929 in Atlus, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Witten and Nola Kate (Russell) Witten. Joy married Rufus "Victor" Romo in 1952 and they celebrated over 25 years of marriage together before his passing. Joy later married I.N. "Neal" Walker in 1988.

Joy was a music major in college and taught many how to play the piano. Joy and Victor met in 1951 on a train ride back to Texas from Colorado, and a year later they were happily married. Victor was a soldier in the US Air Force, so Joy got to travel and experience the pleasures of the world with him. In her spare time, Joy enjoyed oil and pastel painting, as well as horseback riding and bottle digs in Panama.

Joy is survived by her children Ron Romo and Susan Romo; grandchildren Ian Romo, Bianca Romo and Bryan Romo; great grandchildren Kaleb Romo and Carter Gipson; second husband Neal Walker. Joy is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Victor, and two daughter-in-laws Gena and Alex.

A visitation for Joy will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. An interment will occur at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012.
