Elma Emma Baetzel Fatzinger, 95, a 47 year resident of Arlington, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 17, 2017, joining her pre-deceased and beloved husband of 59 years, Edgar "Bud" H. Fatzinger, Jr. She was born on September 7, 1921, along with her twin brother, Edmund, the only children of Robert and Emma Baetzel, in Passaic, New Jersey. She graduated from high school in 1938 at age 17 and entered Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing, Montclair New Jersey. The youngest member of her class, she graduated in 1941, as World War II was beginning. She lost a number of her classmates in the war, but had to stay home because her brother was a navy pilot. She first met her husband-to-be Bud at a birthday party as a child, and was reunited with him on a blind date arranged by their mothers while both were students. They were married on August 28, 1943, first living with parents during the war, then establishing households in Clifton and later Morristown, New Jersey. Arbrook, Inc. brought Elma and Bud to Arlington in 1970.
Over the years Elma was active as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, the Arlington Women's Club and the Arlington Encore club (past president), and was uniformly loved and respected by all.

Elma is survived by five children, Edgar Hunt Fatzinger III (Betty deceased), Brian Jeffrey Fatzinger (Janice), Cheryl Fatzinger Hause, Scott Douglas Fatzinger, and Lisa Fatzinger Davidson (Randal, MD), 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Marjorie Wellman.

Funeral services will be 11:00am, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.
