Billy E. Coulson, 90 of Bedford Texas passed away on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 4:12 am in Bedford Texas.

Service: 10:00 am Wednesday, October 19, in Moore Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment at Moore Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 18, at Moore Funeral Home.

Billy was born October 1, 1926 in Rice Texas to Henry Bennett Coulson and Evah Myrtle McDaniel Coulson. He received his diploma from Rice High School after being drafted into the United States Army where he served two years in Okinawa Japan in an Armor Tank Division. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army Billy returned home where he met and married Merline Byrd on August 31, 1947 in the front yard of the Byrd family farm in Midlothian Texas. Billy worked for his older brother Tommy in the construction business where he became a Craftsman in the setting of ceramic tile. Billy left the construction business to work in the oil fields and on to work in the aircraft industry at Bell Helicopter. After Bell Helicopter he returned to the construction business and ended his career doing industrial repair and maintenance work in the Heating and Air Conditioning industry.

In his spare time Billy enjoyed a garden, working in his work shop doing repairs and maintenance for family and friends. Billy and Merline were members of Shady Oaks Baptist Church. They were active in the Baptist Men's Group that traveled around helping to rebuild and expand small Baptist churches that could not afford to hire contractors to do their expansions or remodel jobs. Billy enjoyed a good fishing trip when he could work one into his schedule of projects.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Tommy, Fred and Ray. His wife Merline of 68 years, passed away 3 months and 29 days before Billy on June 16, 2016. Survivors include: Daughter Judy Bell and husband Bill of Fort Worth, daughter Linda Wallace and husband Charlie of Euless, son Gary Coulson and wife Jackie of Hurst, grandchildren: Brandie Smith, Leslie Clark, Danny Coulson, Garrett Wallace, Steve Bell, Clayton Wallace and Rachel Bell, great-grandchildren: Jenna Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Dawson Coulson, Artie Byrd Clark, Dakota Coulson, Maison Bartlow, Kaya Bartlow and Grant Bell, Sisters Evah Jean Lindsey of Hurst and Bobbie Sue Dvarak of Watauga.
