Betty Plonien, age 95 of Burleson, TX passed away, March 15, 2017. She was born on October 25, 1921 in Mason City, IA to George and Grace Collen. She married Bert Plonien on November 27, 1947, he preceded her in death in 2005.
Betty dedicated her life to love and service. She was an Activity Director in an Arlington Convalescent Center. Many hours were given in community service throughout her life. She volunteered in schools as her kids grew up and was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts. She regularly taught Sunday School and...

Betty Plonien, age 95 of Burleson, TX passed away, March 15, 2017. She was born on October 25, 1921 in Mason City, IA to George and Grace Collen. She married Bert Plonien on November 27, 1947, he preceded her in death in 2005.
Betty dedicated her life to love and service. She was an Activity Director in an Arlington Convalescent Center. Many hours were given in community service throughout her life. She volunteered in schools as her kids grew up and was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts. She regularly taught Sunday School and Bible School. Later, she shifted volunteerism to the Community. Her dedication to service included hours in numerous organizations, favorites among them were Arlington Charities and the Arlington Parkinson's Association. Among awards received was Volunteer of the Year - presented by Mayor Tom Vandergrift of Arlington.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Jack Plonien and wife Cindy, Mike Plonien and wife Melanie; grandchildren, Marcy Lacy and husband Clint and Mindy Quisenberry; great grandchildren, Caleb Quisenberry, Sydney and Carson Lacy, Ewan Quisenberry, Madison, Joshua and Daniel Lacy, and brother, Don Collen.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30am, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services are 10:30am, Friday, May 19, 2017 following the visitation.
Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for a reception at the funeral home, following the burial.
